Track and Field
Seattle Pacific University’s track and field teams competed at the Central Washington Wildcat Invitational from Friday, April 10 to Saturday, April 11 in Ellensburg, Washington, finishing with record-breaking times and a program record. Seattle Pacific competed against Division I and II teams, holding their own against the competition.
Tawaf Aboudou, a freshman, finished second after setting a school record in the 100-meter. He achieved a time of 10.57 seconds, improving his own previous record of 10.66 seconds set earlier in the season at the Oregon State University Pacific Northwest Invite, which was also a personal best and a Seattle Pacific record.
The men’s 4×100-meter relay team, sophomore Robert Joshua, sophomore Justin Brooks, freshman Ben Rojas and Aboudou placed 2nd while also breaking a program record 41.46 seconds, shaving less than a second off the previous record of 41.6 seconds that held strong since 1968.
Aboudou also placed first in both the long jump 6.6 meters and triple jump 14.25 meters
Senior Hannah Chang placed first in 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.04 seconds.
Overall, Seattle Pacific’s men’s team finished 6th with 76 points and the women’s team finished 10th with 58 points.
The Seattle Pacific University men’s and women’s track and field team will compete next at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18.
