Several personal records were broken in the athletics department. Track and field continued to reach faster times during the men’s 4×400-meter relay race while golf won their first tournament in history.
Golf
On Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14 at the Chico State Invitational in Chico, California, Seattle Pacific University golf team won the invitational with a total score of 631 points. Sophomore Lauren Lee spearheaded the victory on both days, shooting a 76 on day one and a 75 on day two.
The invitational was the last of the regular spring season. The golf team attended the GNAC championships from Monday, April 20 to Wednesday, April 22 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
Track and Field
The Seattle Pacific track and field team competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18 in Azusa, California. The Seattle Pacific Falcons competed against over 50 teams and scored multiple top marks and program records.
The men’s 4×400-meter relay team, freshman Tawaf Aboudou, freshman Ben Rojas, sophomore Robert Joshua and sophomore Justin Brooks, finished fourth with a time of 3:12.10 minutes, breaking their previous record of 3:14.66 minutes set on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Freshman Brooke Mosby placed sixth in the women’s 100-meter open division race with a time of 12.36 seconds. Mosby also placed third in the preliminary women’s 100-meter race with a time of 12.20 seconds
Brooks placed sixth in the men’s 400-meter race in 47.26 seconds, beating his previous record of 47.84 seconds earned in May, 2025.
Junior Maya Ewing placed 72 with another SPU season best in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:46.28 minutes.
Aboudou recorded a mark of 14.3 meters in the triple jump, where he placed second in the open division. Aboudou also placed sixth in the open division long jump with a mark of 7.32 meters.
Sophomore Lysandra Plant placed sixth in the women’s javelin with a distance of 36.83 meters.
Seattle Pacific will compete at the Halsell Invitational, hosted by Western Washington University, on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 in Bellingham, Washington.
