The Seattle Pacific University women’s rowing team began the month of May by competing in the Windermere Cup in Seattle, Washington. This was the last series of races before the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships.

Seattle Pacific women’s rowing accepted an abnormal invitation to race in the Cascade Cup’s Twilight Sprint on Friday, May 1. The Varsity 8+ boat raced against the University of Washington and Seattle University, finishing in third place with a time of 1:58 minutes.
The V8+ crew consisted of coxswain senior Lexi Roybal, sophomore Solanes Capps-Mace, senior Amelia Pape, senior Emma Jones, freshman Miriam Dykstra, senior Bella Lisenby, junior Emmerson Spencer, Junior Grace Combs and senior Gem Gatmaytan.
During the Windermere Cup on Saturday, May 2, the V8+ crew took third place again with a time of 7:03 minutes. At the same event The Open 8+ crew finished in fourth, timing at 7:43 minutes.
The Open 8+ was led by coxswain senior Aleksia Haugen and made up by freshman Kaitlin Hollebeek, sophomore Elizabeth Chapman, sophomore Rachael Termure, junior Mia Vittori, sophomore Erica Fisher, junior Faith Akutagawa, senior Racquel Wesley and senior Brittan Dalberg.
Women’s rowing will compete in the GNAC Championships in Sacramento, California on Saturday, May 16.
