On Dec. 7, Sydney Rose played the Barboza in Seattle on her “I Know What I Want” tour.
Rose came out with her latest EP in April of 2025. The EP featured her two most popular songs “5 More Minutes” and “We Hug Now.” Throughout the tour, Rose featured a variety of her discography, playing older, newer and unreleased songs. The crew on tour was made-up of close friends and various talents.
Sofia Valladares is a videographer and photographer who has created content for Rose throughout the tour. Like many from the tour crew, she is a long-time friend of Rose. Valladares has listened to all of Rose’s music since the beginning of Rose’s career.
“My favorite song Sydney plays is ‘Charlie.’ It is one of her older songs and her original people scream it. It is really fun to see that people have been along the ride before she had all this fame in the past year,” Valladares said.
The “I Know What I Want” tour focused on what it feels like to be a girl and finding relationships while going through girlhood.
“We have had almost a completely woman-ran tour, except for one man. Being surrounded by so many amazing women is so awesome, getting to grow with them has been so fun,” Valladares said.

Lydia Maes worked both as a violinist and bassist for Rose’s instrumentals, as well as opening for the Barboza show. She too expressed how having a tour-crew so close was a high-light of the tour.
“Being with these amazing women has been so fun. We have a lot of memories on the road, a lot of good chats and cries and laughs,” Maes said.
Rose’s songs often explore themes of nostalgia. Rose moved from Georgia to Nashville as a young woman to pursue music. She draws from her personal experiences of growing up to create relatable music.
“I try to make music to be relatable to other people, seeing all these girls that were my age when I wrote the songs and seeing them sing the songs and cry is really nice. I get to be that person for all these people, be an outlet for all of them,” Rose said.
With 4.5 million monthly listeners, Rose has experienced an increase in stardom since her song, “We Hug Now.” Rose has become known for her emotional lyricism and down-to-earth persona.
Seattle was Rose’s last show of the “I Know What I Want” tour. She currently releases music on all platforms under the name Sydney Rose. She has new music planned to release in 2026, including a collaboration with Tom Odell.
