Seattle Pacific University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams competed and lost all four of their away games. Meanwhile, track and field won their final meet before the GNAC championship for the indoor season.
Women’s Basketball:
Seattle Pacific women’s basketball lost against Northwest Nazarene University 57-93 on Thursday, Feb. 12 in Nampa, Idaho. Sophomore Grace Mertes scored a team-high of 12 points and tied with freshman Layla Senderson for a team-high of two assists.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, Seattle Pacific played against Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. They lost 53-69. Redshirt sophomore Grace Turley made all four of her free throws and scored the team-high of 14 points.
Men’s Basketball:
Seattle Pacific men’s basketball played against Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, Feb. 12. They lost 64-67. Redshirt junior Julian Mora got a personal record of nine rebounds and a team-high of five assists.
Men’s basketball lost 60-86 against Central Washington on Saturday, Feb. 14. Freshman Sebastian Arius set his first career-high for Seattle Pacific with four assists.
Track and Field:
On Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14, the University of Washington hosted the Husky Classic, where SPU senior Hannah Chang raced in the women’s 60-meter hurdles. She was the only athlete from Seattle Pacific to race.
Chang finished first place in the meet with a time of 8.53 seconds. This beats her previous personal best of 8.55 seconds at the season opener.

There are two double-headers for Seattle Pacific men’s and women’s basketball happening in Seattle at Royal Brougham Pavilion. The first is on Thursday, Feb. 19 against University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Men’s basketball will play at 5:15 p.m. and women’s basketball will play at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 21, University of Alaska, Anchorage will go against Seattle Pacific. The women’s game is set for 2:00 p.m. and the men’s game is at 4:15 p.m.
Track and Field will compete in the GNAC Indoor Championship on Monday, Feb. 16 and Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Spokane, Washington.
