The Seattle Pacific University basketball teams have started their seasons participating in the GNAC. Men’s basketball started as GNAC team of the week after upending No. 4 seed Point Loma University on Nov. 29.
Men’s Basketball
On Thursday, Jan. 8, Seattle Pacific University men’s basketball played Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. The Falcons lost in the second half, ending the game against WWU with a score of 66-71.
SPU men’s basketball played Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 10. The game went into overtime where the Falcons battled for the win, beating Simon Fraser 72-69.
Women’s Basketball
Seattle Pacific women’s basketball team played Saint Martin’s University on Thursday, Jan. 8 in Lacey, WA. Junior Grace Leasure scored a career high of 19 points. The Falcons could not find a way to make any headway and lost 43-83.
Saturday, Jan. 10 the women’s basketball team played Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. Seattle Pacific defeated Western Oregon 80-58, their largest victory margin in the season.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, there will be a double header against Central Washington University in Royal Brougham Pavilion. The women’s game will be at 5:15 p.m and the men’s will be at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will then host Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday, Jan. 17. The men’s game will take place at 2:00 p.m. and the women’s at 4:15 p.m.
