After a cumulative 25 years of service to Seattle Pacific University the Vice President of Student Life, Jeff Jordan, announced his resignation on Oct. 27, 2025.
Jordan reminisced on his time at SPU, discussing how the campus has evolved throughout his tenure. He expressed that the student body has grown more diverse in the past 25 years, both in terms of ethnicity and religious affiliation.
“The richness of our student body has just expanded quite a bit since I first started and I think that’s just a wonderful piece for all that,” Jordan said.
Jordan made it clear that his departure from Seattle Pacific had been discussed with President Deana Porterfield.
“The president was very kind and generous to say, hey, what’s going to work out as far as timing for all this, so she and I negotiated back and forth in our conversation about what would work well for me, as well as hopefully what will work out best for the institution,” Jordan said.
Jordan noted that he intends to continue working, but he is not sure where or in what capacity.
“I still have things that I am excited to look into, but I will probably take a little bit of a hiatus for three to six months and kind of think through where I want to put my energies,” Jordan said.
Jordan offered advice to the next generation of SPU students. He emphasized the importance of learning outside the classroom, whether it be through leadership or extracurricular involvement.
“Let’s make sure that keeps on happening. And because these are the things that oftentimes will mold students in some ways that you have no clue about until later in life,” Jordan said.
When asked if he had any parting words to share with the staff and student body, Jordan expressed his thanks for the opportunity to serve others.
“I want to say thank you for the privilege to be able to serve and to have an opportunity to impact others lives, but my life is impacted as well. I mean, please know, we try to serve our students well and all the rest, but I will tell you that we’re impacted in a positive way too, because we interact with students. So that’s why I say that sincerely, it’s been a privilege. It’s been an honor,” Jordan said.

Thank you Mr. Jordan or I feel that I can call you Jeff. We met years ago when our first kid Allison started at SPU and you welcome you made her and us feel. You and D Money were an awesome team! Then years later you were there for us when we lost Phil. I remember you offering anything that you or the school could do for us in the moment of his passing and receiving his degree posthumously. We’ll miss you and so will SPU. I never went to SPU let alone any college but will always consider myself a Falcon. Best of luck in the future and may God Bless you and your family.
