On Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, Seattle Pacific University’s Office of the President announced the resignation of the Vice President of Student Life, Jeff Jordan.
Seattle Pacific hired Jordan in 1985 as a residence life coordinator until 1989, when he went on to work at Pacific Lutheran University. In 2004, he returned to SPU working as the associate vice president for academic affairs and dean of student life. He became the Vice President for Student Life in 2012.
Since coming into office, Jordan has been a cornerstone of SPU’s community. Over the course of two decades, he has seen the school through many changes, including Arnett Hall’s opening in 2014, the Office of President changing leadership and much more. He has made a point to engage with students by attending on-campus events and eating at the Gwinn Commons Dining Hall.
An email was sent out to the Seattle Pacific community addressed by President Deana Porterfield thanking Jordan for his service to the school and announcing his resignation. According to the email, Jordan’s last day as the vice president is set to be Jan. 6, 2026.
As of now, it is unclear who will take his place but The Office of the President has stated they will be announcing the future interim for the position in the coming weeks.
