Twice in 30 days, the Falcons fly to Gold River.
The Seattle Pacific University women’s rowing team returned to California for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on Saturday, May 17. The Falcons entered two boats in the regatta and raced against California Polytechnic University, Humboldt, the University of Central Oklahoma and Western Washington University in three races.

At 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, the GNAC open four began with Seattle Pacific’s exhibition 4+ settled into race lane four alongside Central Oklahoma in lane three, WWU in lane two and CPH in lane one. The team landed in fourth place with a time of 8:44.5, roughly six seconds behind Central Oklahoma.
At 10:05 a.m., for the GNAC Varsity 4+, SPU settled into race lane four with the varsity boats from Central Oklahoma in lane three, WWU in lane two and CPH in lane one. Again, the Falcons landed in fourth place at 8:09.4, less than a second behind WWU.
At 10:15 a.m., on the last race of the day, the Varsity 8+ teams lined up with WWU in lane one, CPH in lane two, SPU in lane three and Central Oklahoma in lane four. The Falcons started strong in the first 500 meters, going head to head against CPH but eventually falling back into third place with a time of 7:18.2, eight seconds behind Cal Poly.
At the end of the day, Seattle Pacific averaged out in fourth place by one point. Cal Poly Humboldt won the GNACs with 27 points. Western Washington was in close second by 26 points, Central Oklahoma in third with 19 points and SPU standing in fourth at 18 points.

The exhibition 4+ was coxed by freshman Sasha Kolobovnikov. Seats four through one were as follows: junior Racquel Wesley, sophomore Mia Vittori, freshman Elizabeth Chapman and freshman Jasmine Crisan.
The V4+ was coxed by junior Lexi Roybal. Seats four through one were as follows: sophomore Emerson Spencer, senior Emma Ely, senior graduate Megan Rouse and junior Brittan Dalberg.
The V8+ was coxed by junior Aleksia Haugen. Seats eight through one were as follows: junior Amelia Pape, junior Emma Jones, senior Audrey Rekedal, freshman Solanes Capps-Mace, junior Bella Lisenby, sophomore Grace Combs, junior Gem Gatmaytan and senior Addie Clark.

The Falcons have been selected to participate in the NCAA rowing championships on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, in West Windsor, New Jersey.
